Prof. Rainer Helmig is the chair of Department of Hydromechanics and modeling of Hydrosystems, Stuttgart University. His research interests include numerical studies of multiphase flow in porous media, modeling coupling and complex structures, advanced modeling concepts for coupling free flow with porous-media flow, etc. He is associate editor of the journal Water Resources Research, member of the editorial boards of the journals Advance in Water Resources, Computational Geosciences, and GEM – International Journal on Geomathematics. Rainer Helmig was also selected as NGWA Darcy lecturer 2015.
